From the analysis presented here regarding people that may need food, shows that every living soul is bound to eat or else death becomes his or her companion.
Why then does the various arm of governments in Nigeria decided to neglect the farmers? a case study is Edo state, where the hardworking farmers have been relegated to nothing. And the set of people that need this food most, are the same people causing division among the un-suspecting farmers. It's like everyone have forgotten so soon the book of Matthew 24: 7b.

The dedicated All Cooperative Farmers Association plead with you our governor and the government cabinet, including the legislature that what we need at this point is not just loan, rather grant and poliycy that will create a level plain ground for the farmers to operate. As this will boost the effort and determination of the farmers. It will awaken the zeal and concentration, dedication to duty to these most honorable, legitimate, Law abiding citizens of this great country, Nigeria.
We wont stop requesting until we get what we are requesting fort. The All Cooperative Farmers Association have decided to show their seriousness and consciousness to make farming honourable and also to be accepted by the onlookers who thought the lives of farmers will never be changed for the better. The farmers has been permitted to use some part of the government reserve in Okokhuo as a demonstration farm this year 2014, to really show how determined and skilled they are in the farming business. And with their collective effort, have been able to maintain about 100 acres out of the 100 Hectares approved for this Association by the Ministry of Environment and Utilities.
ACFA Executives with some Officials of Ovia North
East Local Government Council in the farm to ascertain
the cost of bulldozing and grading the road to the farm.
the visit was conducted in the month of February, 2014
but has since be neglected by the council.

What we request from our governor now is to assist us with kick off grant to enable the unrelenting farmers of Edo State, especially the Ovia North East Wing to succeed in this venture. ACFA promised to ever remain faithful and loyal to your government if we are supported to show to the world that Edo land is the most fertile land for agricultural venture in Nigeria and that we are eligible to provide the food that can take care of all Nigerians if we are given the needed assistance.
We thank you

A BRIEF REVIEW OF OUR PLANS TO BETTER THE LIVES OF OVIA NORTH EAST FARMERS

This review is very important at this time when it seems the presence of farmers are about to be recognized by the government. This document is aimed at helping to direct the interest of the reader to the actual reason this document is written.

Before the government of the most caring comrade came into power, there were various governments piloting the affairs of this state. Our question is what have they done to better the lives of farmers in Edo State or how much does this food producers mean to them? Most people may say that several farming seasons were declared open by these successive governments, but what was the result? The various kinds of improved seeds they distributed and other benefit claimed were given to the farmers who actually received them?
This government of our amiable governor, the governor of the people, talks and do governor, the man that listen with keenness to the voice of the oppressed, our one and only, Comrade Adams Alihu Oshiomhole, when campaigning to be voted for in the year 2006-2007, sworn to bring back the lost glory of Edo State from the popular slogan it is know for “the ancient city” to the one that befit it at this time “THE MODERN CITY”. And to do this, the lives of majority of the citizenry of the state need to be touched with the merciful hand of a good government. Those that are seriously scorched with this painful rod of distress are those in the grass root. Of which farmers form the larger percentage.
When this government was officially given back his stolen mandate in 2008, the expected changes started to take effect. Among the development brought about by this government were:-
  • Rehabilitation of Ring Road
  • Conversion of some major roads from four lane to six lane roads
  • Construction and rehabilitation of schools, and reactivating the value of education in Edo state
  • Rebuilding of burnt market and constructing new ones
  • Reposition the various government hospitals management and building new hospitals
  • Sinking of borehole in some communities, and provision of transformers to enhance stable light
  • Provision of vehicles and communication gadget to the Nigerian Police
  • Purchase of about 100 buses to reduce transport stress for the people
  • Supporting some artisans and some small scale entrepreneurs with grants
In the case of the food producers the governor also did his best by given them access to the N1b. loan directed to Nigerian farmers by the federal government of Nigeria, of which Edo State was a part. The government also paid her counterpart fund for the Fadama III program in the state.
But today where are we? We are not actually on the fast lane because as our comrade governor normally say, “ I will never allow myself to be treated as a slave in my own fathers house”. We the great farmers of Edo State are not disputing the fact the project mentioned earlier in this document are not tangible projects but we want to humbly request that the comrade governor treat us as children of the parents and not slave in the home. The farmers need more that the N1b for the about 3, 000 farmers co-operative groups in the state. And there must be a tutor to guild these farmers on the use of this money.
We want our most esteemed governor comrade Adams Oshiomhole to remember the promise he made to his parents in his early age that if he has the opportunity, he will make farmers the richest people on earth. What has happen now that our great God has listened to your request and granted your heart desires? Are you still ready and willing to make farmers the richest people on earth?

The Reality Of Showing to All That Edo State, Has The Most Fertile Land For Agricultural Venture In Nigeria

Some basic question we will find answers to in this document are:-
  1. Do we want to continue to depend on the Northerners as our source of food when we have vast land which has not been tapped, to be precise a ‘Virgin Land’ which we can cultivate enough food if we are willing?
  2. Do we believe that without addressing the problems the agricultural sector is facing that our security problems will be over?
  3. Can the civil service absorb all the unemployed youth in this state?
  4. Is it reasonable to create a conducive atmosphere for foreign farmers on the expense of the indigenous dedicated farmers?
We are going to address these aforementioned issues serially and critically too. The fact that you have this document in your hand shows that you have the interest of this most vibrant but neglected sector of our economy at heart. Although most people claim we don’t have anything to offer because we are not educated, others claimed that even if we are cheated on, we don’t have anyone to cry to. These thoughts are very true but the holy scriptures in the book of ……… dispute that believes because our God believes in equality among all humans that he has made. No matter his class or position.
For sincerity sake, it is true that we are not educated on this basis it is very clear that we don’t have any educational qualification from any higher institutions, but because we have been trained by almighty, the creator by himself, we area able to put down our problems, progress and expectations in black and white for you to read without consenting to the service of the acclaimed graduates who has never been able to design a plan on how to better the life of their people. This is Jehovah’s grace upon us, and we are satisfied with this.
